Ketchum Society: Planned Giving

Named after legendary St. Matthew’s rector, the Reverend Arthur Ketchum, the Ketchum Society was launched in 2000. Membership accrues to all those who choose to specify St. Matthew’s Church in their wills with a bequest or in any other form of planned giving. The amount of the bequest is not a consideration for membership.

There are currently 85 individual members of St Matthew’s who have joined the Ketchum Society.  Since its creation, some $300,000 of bequests have been received from members. Bequests received go directly to the endowment of St. Matthew’s and are invested under the supervision of our Investment Committee.

Membership in the Ketchum Society is anonymous. Identification of members will occur only after death through a discreet reference in the “In Memoriam” section of the KEY and through inscription of names in the “Book of Remembrance” maintained in the Vestry Room since it was initiated by the Rev. Arthur Hargate in 1970.
